Position information: Responsible for performing specialized human resources functions in support of an assigned functional area.

Payroll - Specific duties could include: processing payroll; overseeing the maintenance and operation of the payroll system by reviewing and adjusting applicable formulas.

Benefits - Specific duties could include: administration of employee benefits, updating necessary information; and compiling all necessary internal and external reports.

Assists employees who call or visit by answering their questions and addressing payroll and benefit related inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:



Administers and coordinates the daily activities of one or more human resources functions, which may include: benefits, payroll, health and welfare programs.

Assesses and applies existing policies, contracts or regulations, and researches past practices or established procedures to ensure appropriate administrative actions in accordance with area of assignment.

Responds to requests for information from employees and/or the general public over the phone, in person, and via e-mail regarding a variety of Human Resources programs, and/or other related information.

Performs basic office duties, such as copying, filing, faxing, typing standard documents; preparing, sorting, and distributing mail; and entering data.

Enters a variety of information into databases; compiles data and prepares related reports.

Schedules employees, applicants, and/or other applicable individuals for orientations, examinations, training sessions, and/or other related activities; may facilitate sessions.

May assemble packets of information related to assigned area of responsibility.

Prepares, processes, and maintains a variety of activity logs and/or reports related to assigned area of responsibility.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.





MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



Training and Experience (positions in this class typically require):

Associate's degree in human resources, business, or related field; and 1-2 years of specialized human resources experience related to area of assignment.
